  3. STRAIGHT TO THE POINT – No need to be dull but don’t go overboard with unnecessary or technical language.
  4. TARGET – Make it obvious that you have done your homework and your statements are pinpointed to that role and organization specifically.
  5. KEEP IT CLEAR – Use an obvious structure & timeline – time is money.
  6. BE HONEST – Make sure you tell the truth! In the internet age, it’s easy to get caught out.
  7. COVER THE GAPS – Don’t gloss over any career breaks you may have had – just fill them in, and again, tell the truth.
